Opening night coincides with the 95th anniversary of the infamous premiere of Stravinsky’s composition and Najinsky’s choreography – is it possible to enflame today’s audiences the same way? This is a brand new project and we’re still learning all the details… check back soon for more info!

My Father’s Bookshelf at the Guthrie
June 18, 2009 – June 28, 2009
The Guthrie Dowling Studio
818 S. 2nd Street, Minneapolis
My Father's Bookshelf is a new work about dementia, neuroscience, and the mortality of families. Part family drama, part lecture, and part clowning comedy, this engaging performance springs from Live Action Set's uniquely collaborative style. It tells the story of a neuroscientist afflicted with Alzheimer's and explores the individual, family, and scientific response to a disease that eats at the essence of human society: our ability to communicate. A basic introduction to the latest developments in neuroscience research is at the heart of My Father's Bookshelf. Used to highlight the dramatic gap between contemporary Alzheimer's research and practical application, it explores the tragic humor of decline and the inspirational relevance of science.

Desiderare: desire the undesirable (Part Deux!)
Desiderare: desire the undesirable part of the 2008 MN Fringe Festival

July 31, 2008-August 10, 2008
The Soap Factory
110 5th Avenue SE, Minneapolis
Our first version of Desiderare: desire the undesirable premiered at Red Eye Theater in June as part of their New Works 4 Weeks Festival. We had to turn people away and were very pleased with the spontaneous review in the Star Tribune (“This surprising mélange of dance and transgressive theater is disturbingly funny“ and “Desiderare hits stage with a thrilling freshness”), but we want to make the show even stronger! This July we will revisit the work with director Robert Rosen, co-founder of Tony Award-winning Theatre de la Jeune Lune, and return to the Soap Factory to present the new version!
